About Isabel
Born in Dundee, Scotland.
In the late sixties my interest in art increased, and in 1972 I became a member of the Monifieth Art Society, where under the tuition of various local artists, I developed my own style, working in the mediums of watercolours, pastels, aquarelle pencils, and acrylic.
During the following years in the Society I held all office bearers positions and was the President for three years.
In 1996 I moved to Cheshire, England. I became a member of the Alsager Arts Society, and ended a term as vice-president.
My interest in acrylics deepened, and in order to continue with the development of the medium, I attended various courses at the Wedgwood Memorial College. Staffordshire, under the course tutor Martin Eldridge.
Living close to the Peak District National Park, I became inspired by the hill farms, and villages tucked away in the richness of such rugged scenery.
Returning to Scotland in 2001 and the Angus countryside at Wellbank with its panoramic views, and also being close to the wonderful east coast shoreline, all of these powerful elements continue to fuel my enthusiasm for painting.
I am currently studying acrylics at Angus College with tutor Allan Paris.
I have exhibited at and sold in various locations within the U.K
Commissioned work can be found in Germany, Ireland, and England.
Sold works Canada, England, South America and of course Scotland.
